Maui

Maui is such a beautiful, special place. Certain spots remind me of what I’m assuming southern California used to look like – pristine coastline with nobody around. If you get lucky, sometimes it’s so quiet, it’s almost terrifying, especially when real swells are hitting Maui.

It can be overwhelming if you are going to Maui for the first time and are trying to find the ‘best things to do’ or you are trying to pack in everything that Maui offers in a short trip. Pro-tip: don’t do that last part, there is too much to see. Island time is a real thing, just embrace it.

There are usually two types of people when it comes to planning vacations for a place like Maui. The person who needs to research and plan everything or the person who just wings it. I like to be right in the middle.

Whenever I visit a new place I like to find some things that I would for sure like to do or see and create some day plans around those things. For me, it’s helpful to have these plans in case we really feel like getting a lot in one day. I’d rather spend my time at home doing prep rather than wasting my vacation time trying to figure out the best things to do in Maui.

What usually happens is I find one thing to do and explore from there. The day plans are just a nice backup for me in case I don’t feel like adventuring off into the unknown.

Like I mentioned, there are tons of things to do in Maui. It really just depends what you’re into. I’ve listed out many of the places/things that I think are worth your time if you make it to Maui, but it’s not the be all end all list of things to do in Maui.
